The project
Shared workshops for 120 makers under a sawtooth roof, so the light on the benches is the same at 9:00 and at 15:00.
Four north-facing sawtooth roof lights give even, shadowless light, which is what you want for woodwork. Machines with dust go in closed rooms along the east side. The hall in the middle stays clean and quiet enough for a drawing table.
The stair tower is the only red thing on the island. Visitors use it to find the entrance.
