The project

A school for 560 children arranged along one wide, daylit street, with a lookout tower the pupils named themselves.

Classrooms open onto a four-metre-wide learning street lit from above. Children work in the street as much as in the rooms, and teachers can see the whole year group from one place.

The tower started as a ventilation stack. The pupils on the design panel called it the lighthouse (fyrtårn), and the name went onto the school.
